Fall 2024 Intramural Sports Teams

We will offer the following Intramural Sports each week in the Student Rec Center. Check back in August for dates, times, and additional information for the Fall 2024 semester.

  • Indoor Soccer (Drop-In and League/Tournaments)
  • PickleBall (Drop-In)
  • Volleyball (League/Tournament)
  • Basketball (League/Tournament)

To register for any intramural event, participants must create an account and then sign up for the event on our Intramural Sports Registration page. This is a short process that will allow participants to view other intramural schedules, your game schedule, sign-up deadlines, photos, standings, rules, handbooks, and more. Review Registration Instructions and Participant Policies before registering.

Each participant may play on only one team in each league (men’s, women’s, and/or CoRec). For example, “John Doe” has created an account in IMLeagues as a male participant so he may play for a Men’s flag football team as well as a CoRec flag football team. Captains are responsible for making sure their players meet all eligibility requirements listed in the Intramural Handbook.

If you are seeking players for a team, you can…

  • Ask your roommates and neighbors in the residence halls, classmates, and students around campus.
  • Check our online registration site for other participants who may be seeking to join a team.
  • During a season, check teams on our online registration site to see if they are accepting “Free Agents” and join that team.

To avoid a forfeit penalty, teams must contact the intramural sports office by 12 p.m. on game day to accept a default and avoid further scheduling conflicts. Each team is allowed up to 1 defaulted game. If 5 minutes have passed by your scheduled match time and your team does not have the minimum number of players signed in and ready to start play, your team will forfeit the match.

No, participants may not play in any intramural game or event without their valid UNC Asheville RockyCard ID.

Club Sports are recognized student organizations, formed by students, that provide opportunities to be on a team and participate in organized competitions and activities. Although it varies from club to club, most clubs practice 2-3 times per week and compete against other collegiate teams across the state, region, and United States. All skill levels are encouraged to join.

For general questions please contact recreation@unca.edu. For specific inquiries email the account listed below for each sport.
