University Police

UNC Asheville’s Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency whose primary responsibility is the protection of life and property on the university campus. University Police officers are the primary means for emergency first response for a crime, suspicious circumstance, medical crisis, intrusion, fire alarm, or other critical incident situations.

Contact University Police 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year:

  • Call 828.251.6710 to reach dispatch, or simply dial 6710 from any on-campus phone.
  • Visit the customer service window located in Weizenblatt Hall.
  • Activate any of the blue emergency phones located on campus.

Dial 911 for off-campus emergencies.

The vision of the UNC Asheville Police Department is to provide a safe and secure campus that demonstrates openness, trust, honesty and integrity; respecting differences in ideas, people and lifestyles. These same qualities will be reflected in the Department’s leadership, personnel, programs and services.
