Student Health Insurance Requirement
Students who are degree-seeking and taking 6 or more credit hours are required to have health insurance. Students with existing health insurance coverage can waive out of the school insurance plan. Students must enroll in or waive out of the coverage no later than September 10, 2024. Students who do not submit an approved waiver and have not enrolled themselves in the program will be enrolled automatically in the Value Plan.
Student Blue, underwritten by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC), is the insurance provider for all 16 UNC campuses.

Immunizations
Immunization records are required before your first day of class!
All incoming students are required to submit their immunization records to the Health & Counseling Center before the first day of classes.
To access your immunization records, please contact your primary care doctor. If you are unable to get your records from your doctor, contact the Board of Education in the county where you graduated from high school.
When you do have your records, please send or deliver your records to the Health and Counseling Center through one of the methods listed below. Be sure to include your name, date of birth, and your student ID number:
