Move-In August 2024

Instructions for New Student Move-In

Arriving On Campus

When you first arrive on campus please follow signage and those giving directions to the unloading station for your residence hall. If you are not familiar with where your residence hall is located, please refer to the University Map. You do not need to sign up for a specific time or let anyone know when you will arrive as long as it is between the times listed above for your residence hall.

Checking In

Once you arrive in the unloading area, faculty and staff will greet you with additional instructions. All belongings will be moved to staging pallets by our Move-In Team while the student checks in at the main lobby of their residence hall where they will pick up their room key and RockyCard Student ID. Someone should stay with the vehicle at all times.

Unloading Your Items

Once the student checks in and receives their room key, the Move-In Team will assist with transporting all items to the student’s room. This process usually only takes a matter of minutes. Once all items have been unloaded, you will then move your vehicle to one of the designated parking lots with directions provided by University Police and volunteers.

Settling In

We will have staff available to assist with arranging furniture, raising and lowering beds, and installing bed rails. Once you arrive at your room, if you need assistance, please email resmaint@unca.edu, and our team will respond quickly. Please do not request assistance before you arrive at your room.
